Paris-Levallois defeated JSF Nanterre, 77-74 to win the 2013 French Cup Finals. It was thanks to an impressive double-double performance by Paris-Levallois’ center Sean May (206 cm, North Carolina’05) that lead them to victory. The former NBA big man scored 21 points and grabbed 13 boards to lead all scorers. American-Venezuelan John Cox (196 cm, USF’05) chipped in 18 points of his own, while Julius Hodge (201 cm, North Carolina State’05) from the US Virgin Islands and Jawad Williams (204 cm, North Carolina’05) scored 12 points apiece.

Paris-Levallois took control of the game from the get-go, using defense to stifle any Nanterre rallies. They kept a 10-point advantage by halftime, 39-29. Nanterre, care of a Chris-Warren trey was able to come to within one in the dying minutes of the game, but May and Williams made sure that Paris-Levallois stayed ahead. The experience of Paris-Levallois’ players allowed them to outplay Nanterre’s youthful lineup.

Nanterre point guard, Chris Warren (178 cm, Mississippi’11) finished the game with 15 points, while David Lightly (195 cm, Ohio State’11) lead the team with 20 points of his own.
