Neven Spahija, new coach of Cibona Zagreb

Neven Spahija has signed a four-year deal to be the head coach of KK Cibona VIP Zagreb (Croatia-A1). Spahija will be replacing Daniel Lutz at the helm of Croatia’s most dominant basketball club.

Spahija did not coach in 2012-13. He spent two seasons as the head coach of Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul from Turkey’s TBL (2010-2012). 2011 was arguably his most successful year with Fenerbahce. The team was the Turkish Regular Season Champion and the Turkish League Champion. They also won the Turkish Cup that season. His impressive work with the team warranted his invitation to be a coach at the Turkish League All-Star Game that same year.
