Utah Jazz Tallies 11th Win of the Season

Behind another scoring outburst from Lauri Markkanen, the Utah Jazz hacked out a gut-wrenching 134-133 victory over Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns. Markkanen had himself a night to remember, especially with the high level of efficiency he showed on offense. The Finnish big man only missed three of his 18 field goal attempts and produced a 6-of-8 clip from the free throw line. Overall, Markkanen finished with a team-high 38 markers, while also tallying six rebounds and three assists.

The Utah Jazz also received a significant contribution from veteran shooting guard Malik Beasley, who had 27 points off the bench. Jordan Clarkson also came through with 20 points and three assists.

Booker led the charge for the Suns, as he poured in an all-around effort of 49 points, 8 boards, and 10 assists. Phoenix still played without the services of star point guard Chris Paul, who is still sitting out due to a heel injury.

Wizards Escape Undermanned Heat Squad

The Washington Wizards had to fight hard against a severely depleted Miami Heat squad but managed to escape with a 107-106 win in overtime. Bradley Beal led all scorers with 27, while Kristaps Porzingis stuffed the stat sheet with 20 points, 17 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 blocks.

The headline of the night was the Heat’s depleted roster, with most of their key cogs sitting out due to injuries. Miami only fielded seven players, with Kyle Lowry’s triple-double (24 points, 10 rebounds, 15 assists) leading the way. The Heat missed the services of Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, Gabe Vincent, Duncan Robinson, Omer Yurtseven, and Udonis Haslem.
