Utah Jazz Still Second-Best in the West

The Utah Jazz is here to surprise a lot of people, and they’re doing it in a very fun way. Thanks to their unselfish, ball movement-heavy offense, the Jazz hacked out a 110-102 victory over Paul George and the Los Angeles Clippers. Jordan Clarkson led the charge for the Jazz, drilling six treys on his way to a team-high 23 markers. Collin Sexton was also instrumental in the payoff period, willing himself to the free throw line and finishing with 22 points in the win.

It was a close game entering the fourth quarter, and the Clippers even had the lead halfway through the period. But Sexton and the Jazz relied on their ball movement and timely cuts, and it also helped that the Clippers then struggled to get it going on offense. The Jazz outscored the Clippers, 26-17, in the final canto to maintain their hold on the second spot atop the Western Conference standings.

Paul George had a game-high 34 points for the Clippers, while Marcus Morris Sr. chipped in 18 markers. Superstar forward Kawhi Leonard sat out for the 7th game in a row. The Los Angeles Clippers fall to a 5-5 record, while the Utah Jazz improves to 8-3.

Bane Leads Grizzlies Past Wizards

The Memphis Grizzlies leaned on their star backcourt duo to turn back the Bradley Beal-less Washington Wizards, 103-97. Desmond Bane put up a game-high 28 markers, while Ja Morant contributed 23 points, nine boards, and six assists. The Grizzlies also got significant contributions from Brandon Clarke, who chipped in 16 off the bench.

Monte Morris paced the Wizards with his 18 points, but the Grizzlies proved too much for the short-handed Washington squad. Star shooting guard Bradley Beal was placed in NBA’s health and safety protocols, while veteran guard Delon Wright is still out with a hamstring injury.
