Los Angeles Lakers Emerge Victorious

The Los Angeles Lakers finally ended their five-game drought. Behind a stellar performance from superstar big man Anthony Davis, the Lakers defeated the Brooklyn Nets, 116-103. Davis stole the show tonight, scoring a game-high 37 points on an efficient 15-of-25 shooting. He also went perfect from the charity stripe (7-of-7 FT) and only committed a single turnover the whole game. The Lakers also received a significant contribution from starting shooting guard Lonnie Walker IV, who drilled four treys on his way to 25 markers.

The Lakers’ defense was actually superb all game long, holding the Nets to just 46 total points in the first half. It was also encouraging to see the Lakers finally put up a good display from the three-point line. They hit 40.7% of their 27 total three-point attempts, with Walker and Austin Reaves combining for an efficient 7-of-9 clip.

Kevin Durant led the Nets with 31 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, and two blocks. Brooklyn played without stars Ben Simmons and Kyrie Irving, while the Los Angeles Lakers missed the services of four-time MVP LeBron James.

Kings Put Away The Warriors

With a morale-boosting 122-115 victory over the Golden State Warriors, the Sacramento Kings have extended their winning streak to three games. Domantas Sabonis was a monster on offense, scoring 26 points and dishing out eight assists. The Lithuanian big man also grabbed 22 rebounds, with six coming at the offensive end of the floor. Star point guard De’Aaron Fox (22) and rookie Keegan Murray (21) also eclipsed the 20-point mark in the scoring column.

Steph Curry topscored for the Warriors with 27 markers, but it was not enough to get the win. The Dubs wasted a 13-point lead after the opening quarter and fell to their 8th loss in 13 games.
