Jordan Poole Steals the Show

The Jordan Poole party was on tonight. With Klay Thompson resting in the second leg of a back-to-back schedule, Poole was inserted into the starting lineup and again thrived. In the Golden State Warriors’ 132-95 victory over the San Antonio Spurs, Poole produced a game-high 36 points, shooting a 13-of-20 clip from the field, including 5-of-10 from the three-point line.

This is the third time that Jordan Poole was inserted into the starting lineup this season, and there’s no doubt that he is thriving in it. Through those three games, the 23-year-old sparkplug is averaging 28.7 points on a very efficient 64.3% True Shooting. He already showed last season that he is a bona fide starter in the league, but Klay’s return forced Poole to a Sixth Man role.

Stephen Curry chipped in 16 points, five rebounds, and five assists in the win, while Anthony Lamb came off the bench to contribute 17 points, four boards, and four assists. After a five-game losing skid, the defending champs have now won three of their last four games, including victories against the Sacramento Kings and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Adebayo, Butler Lead Heat Past The Suns

Behind clutch performances from Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler, the Miami Heat managed to pull off a 113-112 win over the Phoenix Suns. Adebayo came through in the second half, as he led a Heat fightback and finished with a game-high 30 markers. Butler stuffed the stat sheet with 16 points, 13 boards, and 7 assists, along with a game-sealing block on Suns star Devin Booker.

Booker led the charge for Phoenix with 25 points and three steals, while Duane Washington Jr. put up 21 markers off the bench. The Suns played without star point guard Chris Paul, who is nursing a heel injury.
