Marcus Banks heads to Panathinaikos

Marcus BanksMarcus Banks (188 cm, UNLV’02) has agreed to terms with Panathinaikos (Euroleague) to join the Euroleague club for the remainder of the season. Banks, who’s got seven years of NBA experience, will help the Greek squad firm up their roster at the guard position. He was the 13th pick overall in the 2003 NBA draft by the Memphis Grizzlies and traded immediately to the Boston Celtics, where he played for three season. He spent time with Boston, Phoenix, Miami, Toronto, New Orleans. In 2008 he was part of a trade that sent Shaquille O’Neill to the Suns. Last season he played for the Idaho Stampede of the NBA’s D-League, averaging 17.9 points and 5.0 assists per game. Over his NBA career his salaries totaled over $26m.
