Manu Ginobili Ponders NBA Retirement

Manu Ginobili 41-year-old Argentinian basketball legend Manu Ginobili is considering hanging up his jersey. He has been seen working out at the San Antonio Spurs’ practice facility but has not yet committed to returning for the 2018-19 season.

He played for the Argentinian National Team from 1998 to 2016. He and Andres Nocioni retired together in 2016.

With Tim Duncan retired, Tony Parker moving on to Charlotte, and Kawhi Leonard being traded to the Toronto Raptors, the NBA Championship-winning gang is all broken up and Ginobili is the last remaining key piece of that era. He’s earned an open invite to return as a Spur any time, but at his age, there is very little left in him physically to compete at this level.

Ginobili managed to appear in 70 games for the Spurs in 2017-18. In 20.1 minutes per game, the veteran recorded averages of 8.9 ppg and 2.6 apg.
