Lokomotiv Kuban routs Kalev/Cramo by 63!

Lokomotiv Kuban

Of the three games on tap to close out Round 1 of the VTB United League, the 114-51 dominant win by Lokomotiv Kuban (Russia) over BC Kalev/Cramo Tallinn (Estonia) was the most noteworthy. It was Lokomotiv’s second win in as many games and they are off to a scorching start in the league. The Russian club led from start to finish in what snowballed from a 20-point lead at the end of the first quarter.

Plainly and simply, Kalev/Cramo was outclassed by a much more athletic and talented opponent. Lokomitv Kuban recently added former NBA forward Anthony Randolph to their roster. Despite coming off the bench and only staying 15 minutes on the floor, Randolph still managed to lead his team in scoring with 18 points. He was an efficient 7-of-13 from the field and 4-4 from the line. He was just one of six Lokomotiv Kuban players who managed to score in double figures. Maxim Grigoryev added 16 points and he did it without scoring a single two-point field goal. He got his points from beyond the arc and at the free-throw line. Derrick Brown and Eugeny Voronov chipped in 15 and 12 points respectively.

Frank Elegar was the only the only player from Kalev/Cramo to crack the double digit scoring mark with 16 points. He added nine rebounds as well.
