Levski Lukoil capped off a productive 2017-18 season by clinching the 2018 Bulgarian NBL Championship after edging Balkan Botevgrad in Game 4 of the finals. This is another trophy they can add to their case this season. The club also claimed the 2018 Balkan League Title. With success in every front, you could say that this was Levski Lukoil’s year.
The title game went down the wire and was decided on a last-minute jump shot made by Levski’s Bozhidar Avramov to give his team a one-point lead. Despite Balkan’s best efforts, Levski protected their slim lead until the very end. Avramov finished with 18 points and seven assists
For the most part, Balkan was in control of the game and looked like they were in a strong position to force a Game 5. Hristo Zahariev led them the regular season champions with a game-high 26 points. Igor Kesar added 22 points of his own. But their impact on the scoreboard would not be able to come through in the clutch.
Overall, Levski Lukoil finished strong and it mirrored their effort throughout 2017-18.
