Kalev/Cramo

BC Kalev/Cramo has won the 2013-14 Estonian league championship after a 4-0 sweep of their Finals series against Tartu Ulikool/Rock. The fourth game came down to a decisive 83-72 win for the now seven-time champions. This is their fourth-straight title and cements their Estonian league dynasty. Kalev/Cramo finished one game behind Tartu Rock in the regular season standings, but with Tartu Rock being plagued with injuries in the post-season Kalev/Cramo was able to dominate their series.

Kalev/Cramo established control of the game from the beginning, scoring 25 first-quarter points compared to Tartu Rock’s 15.  Scoring swings in the next three quarters that followed were minimal and they never relinquished their hold of the lead. The winners asserted their dominance in the rebounding department. They showed superior command of the glass with a 33-24 rebounding advantage. Kalev/Cramo’s go-to players were able to attack the basket at will and exhibited some strong individual plays throughout the contest. Interestingly enough, the team only logged a total of two assists for the game compared to Tartu Rock’s more generous approach with 15.

Vlad-Sorin Moldoveanu lead Kalev/Cramo 19 points and 11 rebounds. Gregor Arbet added 18 points, while Curtis Milage chipped in 16 points, seven rebounds and five steals.

Tartu Rock’s best performer for the game came off their bench. Timo Eichfuss scored 17 points. Vincent Simpson finished with 15 points and five assists and Janar Talts scored 11.
