Jurijs Aleksejevs signs with BC Odessa

Latvian Jurijs Aleksejevs (202 cm) has signed with BC Odessa from the Ukraine (Superleague) for the 2013-14 season. He is being added for his presence in the paint and is expected to clean up on the glass. In 2012-13 the 28-year-old played in his home Latvia for BK Jekabpils (LBL). Aleksejevs averaged 11.6 ppg and 7.7 rpg in 34 games in the Latvian league.

In 2011-12 he played a stint in the Czech Republic for BK Nova Hut Ostrava. He posted averages of 4.7 ppg and 3.7 rpg in 34 games.
