John Shurna gets contract extension

John Shurna (205 cm, Northwestern’12) has had his short-term contract with Strasbourg IG (France-ProA) extended through Feb. 17, 2013. He was on a freelance medical contract replacing Nicolas De Jong, though Dec. 28th and has averaged 9.7 points per game over seven French ProA games. He hit highs of 18 and 19 against Cholet and Chalon, respectively. Shurna is a recent graduate of Northwestern, where he played four years of college ball, compiling a 15.7 point per game average over 130 games, including 20.0ppg in 33 games his senior year. He led the tough Big Ten Conference in 3-point field goals (95), 3-point field goal attempts (216), 3-point field goal percentage (44.0%), Points (661), minutes played per game (37.3), and points per game (20.0). He also finished his career at Northwestern as the school’s all-time leading scorer.
