JL Bourg en Bresse wins Eurocup thriller against Bahcesehir Koleji

The second-half of the 7DAYS EuroCup Regular Season began on Tuesday with JL Bourg en Bresse and ratiopharm Ulm completing season sweeps of their respective foes, while Boulogne Metropolitans 92 beat Unicaja Malaga and took the tiebreaker to assume the top spot in Group B. The action continues on Wednesday when undefeated Dolomiti Energia Trento looks to climb ever closer to the Top 16 when it hosts Frutti Extra Bursaspor.

Group A

In a thriller that featured 10 lead changes and seven ties in the fourth quarter alone, JL Bourg en Bresse edged Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul 79-77 at Ekinox on Tuesday. The victory lifted Bourg’s record to 3-1, while sending last-placed Bahcesehir to 0-6. Zack Wright led the winners with 17 points and 7 assists and Danilo Andjusic scored 15. Erick Green shined in defeat with 27 points and 5 steals.

Group B

Boulogne Metropolitans 92 took over first place in the group by defeating Unicaja Malaga 90-80 and extending its winning streak to four games. Anthony Brown scored a team-high 18 points for Metropolitans including a three-pointer with 3.0 seconds left to secure the French side a 4-2 record and the tiebreaker over Unicaja, which had won their Round 1 encounter at home by 8 points. Balance was the name of the game for the hosts with five players in double figures. Dario Brizuela scored 19 points for Unicaja, which saw its three-game winning streak snapped and fell to 4-2.

In the second group B game of the night, ratiopharm Ulm snapped a four-game losing streak to stay alive in the race for the Top 16 with a 66-82 victory at Mornar Bar on Tuesday. Dylan Osetkowski led the way with 22 points as Ulm swept its two games with Mornar to improve to 2-5. Ulm allowed just 23 points in the second half. Mornar dropped its first game at home and fell to 3-3 despite Jacob Pullen scoring 16 points.
