Istanbul wins Eurochallenge in Las Vegas

Team Istanbul has won the Eurochallenge camp in Las Vegas by beating Belgrade 76-59 in the final.

Former NCAA D1 and professional coach Jim Meil lead his team to an undefeated record.

Deon Joyner (208 cm, C) was the top scorer of the team with 19.7 ppg. He also led in rebounds (12 rpg). Joyner played professionally in Bahrein last year and played college ball at Benedict.

Other players who stood out at the camp were Blake Parizeau (University of La Verne), who had the highest Player Efficiency Ranking at the event. He was followed by Darrius Williams and Jordan Inge.

Another player who stood out at the camp was Christopher Pendleton (185 cm, G). This player that got his bachelor’s degree at Mississippi State (industrial technology/technician), dropped some jaws at the measurements where he recorded an incredible vertical leap of 99,1 cm (39 inches)!! He underlined his leaping ability with several spectacular dunks.

Other players who drew attention were Marlon Sierra (Bowling Green), Lazarus Williams (Texas college), Dwayne Morton (Goucher college), Jared-Thorpe-Johnson (Curry college).

All games were broadcasted and could be watched online worldwide.
