Important Euroleague wins for Crvena Zvezda, Real Madrid and ALBA Berlin

Maccabi fell back in the standings to 12-14 despite 24 points from James Nunnally.

LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne 69-72 Bitci Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz

Baskonia grabbed its second win of the week as it fought past LDLC Villeurbanne 69-72 on the road. After beating Anadolu Efes Istanbul on Tuesday for its first EuroLeague win of 2022, Baskonia used a 2-12 run in the last 3 minutes, and Matthew Castello hit two free throws with 1.7 seconds to play to improve to 9-19. Alec Peters led the way with 17 points. ASVEL has now lost seven straight and nine of the last ten games for a 9-18 record.

ALBA Berlin 90-75 Olympiacos Piraeus

ALBA continued to play the role of a spoiler to perfection, sinking 13 three-pointers on just 21 attempts in defeating visiting Olympiacos 90-75 on Thursday night in the German capital. It was the fourth consecutive win for ALBA, which improved to 11-16 on the season, while Olympiacos remained in fourth place despite its record dropping to 16-10. Maodo Lo scored a career-high 27 points and had seven assists and five rebounds for the winners. Sasha Vezenkov led Olympiacos with 19 points, nine rebounds, and four steals.

Real Madrid 92-88 AX Armani Exchange Milan

Real put an end to its four-game losing streak by downing Milan 92-88 in the Spanish capital on Friday. Real improved to 21-7 in the standings while Milan dropped to 17-9. Sergio Llull shined late and led the winners with 20 points, and Guerschon Yabusele added 16 for Los Blancos. Devon Hall paced Milan with 21 points.
