BC Igokea Aleksandrovac is the new top team of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Division I as they snag the 2013 league championship. Via a 74-69 victory in the fifth game of the finals Igokea has dethroned HKK Siroki WWin and halted their four-season championship dominance.

It was tough as both teams went back-and-forth in the early goings of the game with both teams trading baskets, keeping the game close.  While it appeared that Igokea had the advantage for most of the contest, Siroki WWin was able to grab a slight lead 67-65 with two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.  Things got exciting when the game got tied up at 68-68. At the end of the day, Igokea prevailed on the heroics of Corsley Edwards (205 cm, Central Connecticut State’02) who sealed the victory in the dying seconds of the game. Edwards led all scorers with 25 points. Aside from Edwards’ performance, Igokea was also boosted by the 14-point contribution of fellow import Clifford Hammonds (191 cm, Clemson’08).

Siroki WWin was led by Boris Barac (205 cm) who was responsible for creating the game deadlock at 68. He also finished the game with 16 points. The team also counted on guard Johnanthon Jones (183 cm, Oakland’10) who added 17 points of his own.
