Gavin Edwards Loses Claim at BAT

Gavin Edwards

American player Gavin Edwards filed a claim against his former team, the Westsports KL Dragons (Malaysia-MNBL) at the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal (BAT). The player was claiming for outstanding salaries owed to him by the club. He played for the Dragons in the ASEAN league in the 2012-13 season. Unfortunately for Edwards, the Arbitrator of the case dismissed his claim against the team.

For reference, the award reads as follows:

1. All requests for relief of Mr. Gavin Edwards are dismissed.

2. The parties shall bear their own legal fees and expenses.

3. The costs of this arbitration until the present Award, which were determined by the President of the BAT to be in the amount of EUR 3,000.00, shall be borne by Mr. Gavin Edwards alone.

4. Any arbitration costs associated with a Request for Reasons shall be advanced by the requesting party.
