Gabe Blair leaves Ziona

26-year old American Gabe Blair (203 cm, Wichita State’11) has had his contract waived by Ironi Nes-Ziona (Israel, National League) after he was found to have broken team regulations and violated moral code. It is unclear what Blair has done to warrant the termination of his contract, but nevertheless he will now depart the team he has been with since turning pro.

Ironi Nes-Ziona brought Blair to Israel straight from college in December 2011, and the power forward-center has been in good form since. During the 2011-2012 season Gabe Blair played 24 games and averaged 16.0ppg, 9.3rpg, 1.1apg, and 1.4spg as he helped Ziona reach the semi-finals of the play-offs.

This season both the team and Blair have been replicating last season’s good form. The team is second in the National League and during his 17 games Blair has posted numbers of 13.6ppg, 2.1rpg, and 1.4apg.
