First mask-wearing game in college basketball

Boston University and Holy Cross made history yesterday. It was the first game in college basketball where all players of both teams had to wear a mask DURING the game!

Boston University is the first NCAA D1 team requiring its players to wear masks — and also the first to require other teams to wear masks when they play at Case Gym on the campus of Boston University. Thus, the first home game of the Terriers’ season was the first where both teams were wearing masks. 

The Patriot League, in which Boston University plays, has canceled non-conference games, too. Boston University and Holy Cross will face each other six times, three sets of back-to-back home-and-away games. They’ve already played each other twice, meaning Holy Cross has two more times playing in masks against Boston University.
