Edgar Sosa

Edgar Sosa (190 cm, Louisville ’10) has completed a test period with Blancos de Rueda Valladolid (Spain-ACB) and has been officially signed according to the team at a presentation event held Friday. Sosa and Patrick Ewing, Jr. were introduced as new members of the club. Sosa has not played for over a year due to an injury he sustained while playing with the Dominican Republic National Team during Olympic qualifiers. During a contest against Panama in September, 2011, he broke both his tibia and fibula. After healing up from that injury, he broke a bone in his ankle in July of 2012 during an exhibition against the US National Team.

In 2010-11 he played for Angelico Biella (Italy-SerieA), averaging 14.1 points and 4.5 assists (3rd in SerieA) per game over 30 games.

Sosa has been a member of the Dominican Republic National Team in 2005-06, 2011, and 2012.

Sosa played his collegiate ball at Louisville, finishing his four years in 2009. In those four years he played 140 games, averaging 9.7 points per game over those 140 games, and 13.1 points and 4.5 assists per game over 33 games his senior year.

He played in the NCAA tournament all four years he was with the Cardinals, making it as far as the Regional Final in 2007-08 and 2008-09, losing both times.
