DJ Strawberry backs out of Holon deal

DJ StrawberryDJ Strawberry (1.98m, college: Maryland) has executed an out clause he had in his contract with Hapoel Holon and is reported to be signing with Croatian squad Cibona Zagreb. Strawberry, the son of former Major League Baseball player, Darryl Strawberry, decided to opt out of his agreement after Luther Head also decided to leave Holon before the season started. The deal Strawberry signed reportedly allowed him to back out of the agreement if the Chinese team he had tried out for offered him a contract, or he found a better deal ($200,000 better) in Europe.

While he hasn’t officially signed yet, he reportedly has financial terms worked out with Cibona and will be inking the deal shortly.

Strawberry averaged 15.6 points per game for Hapoel Jerusalem in the Loto League last season.
