David Hawkins’ second sample positive for cocaine

david hawkins failed 2nd testDavid Hawkins (194 cm, Temple’04) initially failed the anti-doping test in December 2012. After a test was conducted on his B sample, it was found that the specific drug is COCAINE. A test was done on his second sample due to an appeal by Galatasaray (Turkey-TBL). They contended that Hawkins took morphine for his shoulder and that it was approved. He currently has a three-year contract with Galatasaray. The league has yet to release an official statement on the results.

Galatasaray added Manuchar Markoishvili (196 cm) to bolster the roster during Hawkins’ suspension. They arranged a buyout of the Georgian player’s contract with Mapooro Cantu (Italy-SerieA).
