Crvena Zvezda wins thriller and takes the lead in Adriatic League final series

Serbian team Crvena Zvezda mts took the lead in the 2021 Adriatic league finals by beating Budućnost VOLI from Montenegro in Game 1 in Belgrade (82-78).

It was a tough 40-minute battle with a thrilling ending. Jordan Loyd made two key free throws to give a 4-point lead to Crvena Zvezda – 82:78, with less than 20 seconds remaining on the game clock. After that, the defense prevented Buducnost from scoring.

Consequently, Crvena Zvezda now leads the series by 1-0. Game two will be played on Tuesday, May 18, also in Belgrade.

Although the Serb team lead most of the time and even had a 15-point lead, this game wasn’t exactly a picnic on the beach. On the contrary, Buducnost fought back and cut the deficit to only two points 80-78. But it wasn’t enough.
