Celtics Legend, John Havlicek Passes Away

On Thursday night, the Boston Celtics announced that NBA Legend and Hall-of-Famer, John Havlicek passed away at age 79. He had been suffering from Parkinson’s disease.

Havlicek won eight championships with the Celtics across his 16-year NBA career. He was a 13-time All-Star and had career averages of 20.8 ppg, 6.3 rpg and 4.8 apg. The Celtics drafted him seventh overall in the 1962 draft. Havlicek would then spend his entire pro career with the Boston franchise. He currently holds the franchise record for games played, points and field goals made.
