BC Khimki players threaten with strike
BC Khimki Moscow Region has received a warning from its players that they will start a strike on the 15th of January if nothing is done about the three months delay in the payments of their salaries.
After Mr.Bodunkov stepped down as the president of the Russian club, and the arrival of the new management this summer, the financial situation has been anything but clear.
Khimki won the Eurocup last season and is also doing very well this season under Lithuanian coach Rimas Kurtinaitis. The club plays in the Euroleague and qualified for the top 16 and won the first two games (tonight they play on the road against Montepaschi Siena from Italy).
If the player strike doesn’t lead to a solution, then Khimki could run the risk of seeing some players leave pretty soon.
