Basketball world mourns death of Frederic Forte

Frederic Forte suffered a heart attack and died suddenly on New Year’s Eve, at age 47. Frederic Forte was the president of Limoges for more than a decade and was also the head coach during the 2006/2007 and 2007/2008 seasons. In addition, he had a long career as a player before that.

He played for the French national team and spent seven years of his career with Limoges. He was most famous for a decisive steal he made on Toni Kukoc during the final moments of the 1993 EuroLeague Final, between Limoges and Benetton Treviso. This play helped the French team win its first and only continental championship title.

Among other clubs, Forte also played for such teams as Strasbourg, Avellino, and Iraklis.Frederic Forte
