The two teams contesting the 2015 Italian Serie A title kicked the excitement level up a notch. Banco di Sardegna Sassari evened the Finals 3-3 series against Grissin Bon Reggio Emila via a thrilling game that needed three extra periods to resolve. The tightly contested game was finally resolved with Sassari coming out on top 115-108.

The do-or-die game brought out the best from Banco di Sardegna’s talented roster. Three players finished the game scoring 20 or more points. Jerome Dyson led all scorers with 26 points. Olesani Lawal chimed in with a monstrous double-double performance. He scored 25 points and hauled in 16 rebounds, dominating the paint for the blue shirts. David Logan caught fire from downtown, making five of his 11 shot attempts from three-point range, en route to his 23-point scoring night.

Amedeo Della Valle was the top scorer for Grissin Bon with 25 points. He had the hot hand for his team, nailing 6-of-9 shots from beyond the arc. Rimantas Kaukenas added 20 points.

Defense was the key to Sassari’s success. They had eight blocks for the game, compared to Grissin Bon’s four.

After all that has been said and done, everything now boils down to one single Game 7, where the fate of the 2015 Italian Serie A championship will be decided. Which team will hoist the gold over their heads?
