Arrest warrant issued for DeMarcus Cousins

Things appear to have been going from bad to worse for Lakers big man DeMarcus Cousins. Not too long after being diagnosed with a torn ACL, which is expected to keep him off the court for most, if not all of the 2019-20 regular season, DMC is now embattle with off-court problems.

Police from Mobile, Alabama has issued a warrant of arrest for DeMarcus Cousins. This is for a misdemeanor domestic violence charge. According to the municipal court website, it is listed as a “third-degree harassing communications charge.”

Cousins’ former girlfriend, with whom he has a child with, Christy West has filed for a restraining order be issued against DeMarcus, citing that center had threatened and choked her.

So far, Cousins has declined to comment. However, both the NBA and the Lakers organization are currently “investigating the allegations.”
