Euroleague round 4: Real Madrid beats Cantu for the first time in 37 years.
Round 4 of the Euroleague did not really bring any shocking results. However, the young team of Partizan was close to upsetting Barcelona at home. Turkish Anadolu Efes booked an important win on the road against Spanish Caja Laboral Vitoria after trailing by 18 points! Home team Caja Laboral scored only 16 points in the entire second half. Real Madrid, Zalgiris Kaunas and Maccabi Tel Aviv remain undefeated after the first four rounds of the Euroleague.
Fenerbahce Ulker-Panathinaikos Athens 73-64
Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul bounced back from its first loss in the 2012-13 Turkish Airlines Euroleague by downing Panathinaikos Athens 73-64 at home in Group A on Thursday. Fenerbahce improved to 3-1 to stay atop the standings, while Panathinaikos dropped to 2-2.
Real Madrid- Maporo Cantu 80-66
Five players scored in double figures as Real Madrid beat Mapooro Cantu for the first time in 37 years, 80-66 in Group A action in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague. Mirza Begic led the way with 17 points while Rudy Fernandez and Nikola Mirotic both scored 14 points and Jaycee Carroll and Sergio Llull each added 11 points for Madrid, which last knocked off Cantu in 1975 and improved to 3-1 in the group. It was Real’s only other victory over the Italian side, which won the last meeting in the final of the 1991 Korac Cup. Cantu dropped to 1-3 in the group despite 18 points from Pietro Aradori, while Jeff Brooks and Maarten Leunen both scored 13 points.

A routine victory for the Israeli champ that was never challenged by the guests from Poland.
Zalgiris Kaunas-EA7 Emporio Armani Milan 92-87
Zalgiris Kaunas remained undefeated after beating EA7 Emporio Armani Milan 92-87 in front of packed Zalgirio Arena on Thursday. For the first time in history, the Lithuanian champions opened the Turkish Airlines Euroleague season with a 4-0 record and now hold a firm lead in the Group C standings, while Milan dropped to 2-2.
FC Barcelona Regal-Partizan MT:S 85-82
In one of the best games so far in the 2012-13 Turkish Airlines Euroleague, FC Barcelona Regal stayed undefeated in Group D by downing Partizan mt:s Belgrade 85-82 at Palau Blaugrana on Thursday. Barcelona improved to 4-0 and set up a big battle for first place in Group D next week, when it visits CSKA Moscow in the Russian capital. Partizan dropped to 0-4 and needs to bounce back right away to keeps its Top 16 options alive.
Unicaja Malaga-ALBA Berlin 67-62
An expected, but hard fought result. The Spanish home team threw a decisive blow in the 3rd quarter in this slow game where the defenses dominated.
Caja Laboral Vitoria-Anadolu Efes 64-76
Anadolu Efes stormed back from a 48-30 halftime deficit to stun Caja Laboral with a 64-76 win at Vitoria’s Fernando Buesa Arena. The visitors limited Laboral to 7 third-quarter points and just 9 in the fourth while finding their own offensive rhythm to claim the vital road win. Efes improved to 3-1 and sits in second place in Group C with a chance to move into first when it hosts undefeated Zalgiris Kaunas next week.
