Zaid Abbas heads to Shanxi Zhongyu

Zaid Abbas (203 cm) will be playing for Shanxi Zhongyu from China’s CBA this 2014-15 season. He is a Jordanian player, but a veteran of Chinese professional basketball. Abbas was a former player of the Jordanian national team from 2004 to 2012. In 2013-14 Zaid played for the TianJin Steel (China-CBA) and as a member of the team’s starting five was able to deliver averages of 13.9 ppg and 12.1 rpg. In 2012-13 he met with some good success during his stint with the Shandong Flaming Bulls (China-CBA). In 39 games he averaged 17.9 ppg and 11.4 rpg, while helping the club make a Chinese CBA finals appearance in 2013.
