VTB United League Recognized by FIBA

In an official letter from FIBA Secretary General Patrick Baumann, the VTB United League received official recognition. He thanked the league for its cooperation and confirmed its rcognition in accordance with the General Statutes and Internal Regulations of the International Basketball Federation. Baumann also indicated in the letter his interest in the development of the league and wished it success in holding its championship.

Recognition of the VTB United League by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) is another important step in the development of the VTB United League, noted League President Sergey Kushchenko. It testifies that the League has taken a worthy place in global basketball. First of all, this is the product of joint work between the League and its member clubs.

The VTB United League signed the FIBA Declaration on August 3, 2014, necessary for receiving official status from FIBA.
