Union Olimpija secures first title in 8 years

Union Olimpija

There is a new champion of the Slovenia Premier A, but it is a familiar name as Union Olimpija Ljubljana defeated Rogaska in Game 4 of the finals series. The win handed Union Olimpija a 3-1 series victory and brought the club its first Premier A title since 2009.

Despite the barren stretch out of the championship picture, the club remains the winningest in Slovenia and now extends to 16 titles. It also breaks an unwanted record where Union Olimpija lost its last five finals series’.

As for Rogaska, the club must recover from losing its second final in three seasons.
