Avesta.Tj | 01.10.2011 | Young leaders from all over Tajikistan gathered in camps sponsored by the Department of Sports United ,U.S. State Department to learn from the Tajik coaches recently returned from USA after completing vocational training programs.
As explained to “Avesta” the U.S. Embassy in Tajikistan in the spring of this year Sports United with the U.S. Embassy and American Councils, a partner in the program, sent eight Tajik coaches youth sports in the United States to participate in working meetings, seminars, site visits and other events leadership development and coaching skills.
According to a source familiar with the professional coaches training program that combines sports and education to improve the overall health of youth and personal development.
“According to the return of Tajik participants shared their experience with a group of 30 coaches and young leaders during the 10-day seminar in Khujand. Later, they organized a series of day camps for young leaders in the four regions of Tajikistan to support young people to participate in sport “- said the source.
“The camps brought together 180 participants aged 12 to 14 years of RRS, Sughd and Khatlon and Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region. Sports training, training on leadership, conflict resolution and life skills training, helped young people become leaders, “- he said.
“Tajik coaches and young leaders are now beginning to work to create a basketball league, which will enable young people, especially girls, continue to develop their life skills and leadership skills through sport.
