Renaldo Balkman joins Halcones Rojos

Puerto Rican-American forward Renaldo Balkman (201 cm, South Carolina’06) is set to join Halcones Rojos de Veracruz from Mexico’s LNBP. Balkman began the 2013-14 season with the Dallas Mavericks, but was cut after the preseason. He was originally slated to play for the Capitanes de Arecibo from Puerto Rico’s BSN before making the jump to the Mexican club.

In 2013 Balkman signed with the Guaiqueries de Margarita from the Venezuelan LPB. There he played 13 games and averaged 18.4 ppg and 8.6 rpg. He later moved to Brujos de Guayama (Puerto Rico-BSN) in May 2013 and managed to play in 31 games while posting averages of 17.0 ppg and 8.8 rpg.
