FIBA Basketball Champions LeagueThe FIBA Basketball Champions League season continued this week with Round 11 of the league taking place. There were 20 games during the week and some shuffling in the groups during the eleventh week of the campaign. Below we will take a look at the results and where this week’s action leaves the clubs in the FIBA Basketball Champions League.

Group A

The woeful season of the Bakken Bears continued as the team lost 68-74 to Helios to slip to 1-10 at the bottom of the standings. Helios collected just its second win of the FIBA Basketball Champions League to move to 2-8. Monaco continued to dominate Group A with a 67-73 road win over Ironi Nahariya. The French club is dominant at the top with a 10-1 record, while Ironi Nahariya dropped to 3-8. CEZ Nymburk dominated Fraport Skyliners 87-72. The Czech champs now sit third with an 8-3 record, while Fraport is on 4-7 in fifth. In a mini classic, Banvit BK downed Aris 95-94 in a high-scoring thriller. The hosts moved to second (9-2) and snapped the three game winning streak of Aris (7-4).

Group B

Pinar Karsiyaka Izmir cruised past Avtodor Saratov 78-65 to move to joint second at 7-4, while Avtodor slipped to 4-7 in seventh. Le Mans travelled to Oradea and defeated 60-79 in style to go first on its own with an 8-3 record. Oradea slipped to 5-6 with the loss. Maccabi Rishon was comfortable at home with a 79-61 win over Umana Venezia. The victory pushed the Israeli club to 5-6, while Venezia slipped to 7-4. Despite losing 61-76 to Khimik, Kataja Basket stayed in 4th place with a 7-4 record, while Khimk stayed bottom on 2-9.

Group C

EWE Baskets Oldenburg edged out Neptunas Klaipeda 69-73 on the road, which pushed the German club to 7-4 in third place. Neptunas dropped to second with an 8-3 record. ASVEL re-secured first place (9-2) with a 70-56 over PAOK, which sent the Greek club to 5-6. USAK poured in 96 points to kickstart its season and move to 5-6. The club defeated 7th ranked (3-8) Rosa Radom 96-76. Ventspils secured its own road win with an 82-88 win over Openjobmetis VA to move to 6-5, while the losing hosts slipped to last on 2-9.

Group D

Tenerife’s hold on Group D continued with a narrow 72-75 win over Strasbourg. The win gives the Spanish club a 9-2 record at the top, while Strasbourg slipped to third on 7-4. Scandone Avelino downed Oostende 73-78 to take sole possession of second place with an 8-3 record, while Oostende is now fifth with 4-7. The record is shared by Cibona after the Croatian team took out Mornar Bar 81-92, sending its opponents to 2-9 at the bottom of the standings. Juventus was too strong for Mega Leks and claimed an 85-78 home success.

Group E

With a 9-2 record after beating Stelmet Zielona Gora 66-84, Besiktas is cruising at the top of the standings. Gora is struggling lately with 4-7 record. Partizan Belgrade took out Szolnoki Olaj 77-67 in the Serbian capital to claim a stake in third place with a 7-4 record. Olaj on the other hand is out of its depth at 1-10 propping up the table.
