Northwest Missouri State wins NCAA Division II Championship

Northwest Missouri State This is a big year for Northwest Missouri State. The school won two NCAA Division II titles, one in football and another in basketball. The Bearcats blasted through Fairmont State 71-61.

The championship game was straightforward and clear cut from the get-go. Northwest Missouri State jumped ahead by seven points and did not look back since. Strong defense played a key role in this win. Fairmont State was previously averaging 95 points per game but were unable to muster up any kind of consistency on the offensive end.

“We came out with no fear,” which was unbelievable,” Bearcats coach Ben McCollum told Bearcatsports.com. “I knew if we had any chance to beat them, you have to kind of bully the bullies. They get after it so much and make it really difficult for you.”

Chris-Ebou Ndow dropped a massive double-double performance with 17 points and 18 rebounds.
