Tony Parker is FIBA Europe P.O.Y. 2013

Frenchman Tony Parker is the 2013 FIBA Europe Player of the Year. The 32-year-old San Antonio Spurs point guard will receive the trophy when his team faces ALBA Berlin during the NBA Global Games. Parker is in elite company. Former recipients of the award include German legend Dirk Nowitzki and Russian phenom Andrei Kirilenko. The award is based on votes from the media and fans.

He led the French national team to an impressive Gold Medal finish at the 2013 Eurobasket competition. Parker was also part of the San Antonio Spurs’ NBA championship-winning campaign in 2013-14 as they defeated the Miami Heat in convincing fashion.
