NBA Champ Nemanja Bjelica rejects Warriors’ offer and returns to Europe

Unrestricted free agent Nemanja Bjelica has informed the Golden State Warriors that he’s leaving the NBA and will return to Europe next season instead of re-signing with the team on a veteran-minimum contract.

The 34-year-old has reportedly agreed to a two-year deal with Fenerbahce, a team he played with from 2013-15. He won a Turkish League championship with the club in 2014 and was named EuroLeague MVP in 2015 before beginning his NBA journey with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Nemanja Bjelica will receive four million euros net from Fenerbahce.

In his six-year NBA career, Nemanja Bjelica also played for Minnesota, Sacramento, and Miami. Bjelica made 71 appearances for the Warriors last season and averaged 6.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 16.1 minutes per game. His best season was in 2019/2020, when he averaged 11.5 ppg and 6.4 RPG while connecting on 41,9 % of all his three-point attempts.
