Mike Brown returns to Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers will be bringing Mike Brown back to coach their young roster of players. The agreement in principle for Brown’s return comes just after five days after the franchise let go of Byron Scott as head coach.

The 2009 NBA Coach of the Year was on Cleveland’s shortlist of candidates which included former LA Lakers coach, Phil Jackson and Mike Kryzewski. Brown, however, was the only one interviewed by the team; specifically its owner Dan Gilbert who was very impressed with Brown.

Brown is noted for being a very good defensive-minded coach, but has been criticized for lack of vision with regards to offense. It will be interesting to see if this second time will be the charm. Brown coached the Cavaliers from 2005 to 2010.
