Marko Banic joins ALBA Berlin

Marko Banic (205 cm) has opted to join ALBA Berlin (Germany-BBL) for the 2014-15 season. The Croatian player was originally set to play for Estudiantes Madrid (Spain-Liga Endesa). Banic is coming off a brief and disappointing run with Unics Kazan (Russia-PBL) in 2012-13, and is hoping for a fresh start this season. He played one game in the Russian league, failing to tally a single point and only managing to grab a single rebound. In 2 Eurocup games he was able to average 1.5 ppg and 1.0 rpg. He left the club in November 2012.

Banic last played in Spain in 2011-12 for Gescrap Bizkaia Bilbao Basket. He played 20 games for them in the Euroleague and was able to average 13.3 ppg and 4.0 rpg. He logged 34 games in the Spanish ACB and hit averages of 11.5 ppg and 4.3 rpg.
