Marcus Fizer heads to LigaA with Bahia

marcus fizerMarcus Fizer inks deal to help Bahia Estudiantes (Argentina – LigaA) fill out their roster. Fizer (2.03m, college: Iowa St.), started last year for the Taiwan Mobile Leopards where he played just one game and scored 23 points and 13 rebounds. He then moved on to Puerto Rico and played for Brujos de Guayama in the BSN. Fizer started his career in the NBA where he played for Chicago for four seasons averaging 12.3 points per game. He was selected in the expansion draft by the Charlotte Bobcats in 2004, but didn’t make their roster and was signed by the Milwaukee Bucks as a free agent. After one season with the Bucks he was signed by the Austin Toros in the NBA D-League. Over 289 appearances in an NBA jersey he averaged 9.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.
In 2006 he crossed the pond and played for Polaris World Murcia in the Spanish ACB, then played a year in Puerto Rico and two seasons with Israel powers Maccabi Tel Aviv. The squad reached the finals at the end of the 2007-08 season, but Fizer was unable to participate due to a knee injury. That injury ultimately caused him is spot on the Maccabi roster.
