Marcus Eriksson extends with Barcelona

Marcus Eriksson (200 cm) has put pen to paper on a new deal with FC Barcelona Regal (Spain, Liga Endesa and Euroleague) that will keep with the club through the 2017/2018 season. The Swedish player is currently off the court for some time after rupturing his ACL at the start of the season. The shooting guard is set to miss a large portion of the season with the injury, with the recovery time said to be six months.

Marcus Eriksson joined the Spanish powerhouses’ first team this season and the club has obviously decided to keep the faith with the 20-year old, especially as he is considered a real prospect for the future. He was an NBA Draft candidate earlier in the year, but withdrew his name from the running before the date of the draft. Last season he spent time in the Liga Endesa on loan from Barcelona playing for Manresa. With the team he featured in 33 games and notched averages of 11.2 points and 1.8 rebounds per game.
