Lawrence Frank fired by Pistons

After two seasons as the Head Coach of the Detroit Pistons, Lawrence Frank has been fired by the team. The Pistons finished with a very disappointing 29-53 (.354) record this season. The team management wants a more drastic improvement for the team for this upcoming 2013-14 season, especially after their acquisition of Spanish point guard Jose Calderon and the emergence of rookie big man Andre Drummond as a future force to be reckoned with. Detroit wants to shake things up and go in a different direction.

Prior to joining the Pistons, Frank had a one-season stint as an assistant coach for the Boston Celtics in 2010-11, and before that he was Head Coach of the Brooklyn, then “New Jersey,” Nets from 2004 to 2010.
