Brooklyn Nets embattled superstar Kyrie Irving is starting to make amends for the antisemitic issues that he found himself in for the past two weeks. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Kyrie recently met with NBA commissioner Adam Silver, as both sides discussed the next steps that the All-Star guard needed to do to make his return to an NBA court. Charania mentioned that the discussions were “productive”, something that is an encouraging sight not just for Kyrie, but also for the Nets organization.

It could be remembered that Kyrie Irving shared a controversial film on his social media, sparking an antisemitic furor that caused the Nets to suspend him for at least five games. The Nets front office has since issued six requirements for Kyrie to complete before returning to the active lineup, so this meeting with Silver could be a sign that the star guard is willing to fix the damage he has caused.

The Nets still need Kyrie Irving on the basketball court, especially with him producing All-Star-worthy numbers at the start of the 2022-23 NBA season. The 30-year-old star is putting up a tremendous stat line of 26.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.1 blocks through eight games. He and Kevin Durant are absolutely balling out, but they need more contributions from their teammates to rack up wins. The Nets are currently sporting a 4-7 record, sitting 11th in the Eastern Conference standings. This is not the position that they want to be in, but if Kyrie comes back at some point this season, look for the Nets to turn it up a notch.
