Khimki misses EuroLeague playoffs after historic 15th straight loss

Khimki is officially out of playoff contention, after suffering a record 15th straight defeat in the EuroLeague on Thursday night.

The Russians were decimated by Fenerbahce at home (76-107) and lost for the 15th straight time to drop to 2-21.

Therefore, they now hold the record for most defeats in a row in the EuroLeague.

At the same time, Khimki got officially eliminated from the EuroLeague playoffs, with 11 rounds to go.

On the other hand, Fenerbahce is the best team in the EuroLeague at the moment.

The Turks extended their winning streak to eight games and improved to 13-10 in the standings.

Fenerbahce has managed to solidify its place in the playoff zone and is among the favorites to make it to the postseason.

FC Barcelona survived a late thriller against Olympiacos in Piraeus and has now won sixth straight games.

The Catalans saw the “Reds” come back from a double-digit deficit in the first half, but stood tall and edged their opponents.

Cory Higgins made a pair of free throws, with 6.3 seconds to go, and handed his team the win (74-76).

Olympiacos had the chance to force an overtime, but missed three chances in the final play of the game.

FC Barcelona extended its winning streak in the EuroLeague to six games and remained on top of the table (17-6).

For their part, the Greeks have lost four of their last five and dropped to 11-12.

EuroLeague Basketball was forced to suspend the game between Maccabi Tel-Aviv and Anadolu Efes, as the Turks couldn’t travel to Tel-Aviv, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The competition will reschedule the game to a later date.
