Jiri Hubalek heads to Umana Reyer

Jiri HubalekJiri Hubalek (209 cm, Iowa St.’08) has agreed to terms with Umana Reyer Venezia (Italy-SerieA) for the rest of the 2012-13 campaign. Hubalek started the season with Nuovo Napoli Basket (Italy-Lega2), but the club ran into financial trouble and filed for bankruptcy in Oct., leaving Hubalek without a place to play. Last season he suited up for Petrochimi Bandar Imam Harbour  in the Iranian Superleague, where he played in five games and dropped in an average of 20.8 points and hauled in 7.2 rebounds per game. He signed with Al Moutahed Tripoli of the Lebanese Division A League and saw action in one contest, contributing 10 points. In 2010-11 he was in Italy playing for Diamo Ford Sassari in SerieA, averaging 7.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game over 11 games. Hubalek played collegiately at Iowa State (NCAA-Div 1), compiling a 10.8ppg and 6.0rpg average, with 12.4ppg and 7.3rpg his final season.
