Gani Lawal headed to Al Rayyan in Qatar

Gani Lawal (208 cm, C) has signed a 1-year contract with Al Rayyan. The 32-year old veteran big man started last season with Krka Novo Mesto in Slovenia but moved early in the season to the Japanese B league. There, Lawal averaged 18.5 ppg and 11.5 rebounds in merely two games for Rizing Zephyr Fukuoka.

Gani Lawal brings an impressive resume to Qatar. He has played EuroLeague for Milano and Panathinaikos and played ChampionsLeague and EuropeCup in Turkey and Italy.

Gani Lawal played his college ball at Georgia Tech. There he helped the Yellow Jackets to winning seasons his junior and senior year by averaging over 14 ppg and 9 rebounds.
