French Pro A: Dijon downs Limoges, 81-69

French Pro A

In last remaining game of Round 27 in the French Pro A, JDA Dijon Bourgogne defeated Limoges CSP Elite 81-69 and preserved its pristine record at home. Even though the win by Dijon gives them an identical 17-10 record with Limoges, they now sit in third place in the standings. In fact, the competition in the league is so stiff at the moment both Paris-Levallois and Le Mans also share a 17-10 slate. All four teams are hot on the heels of the league-leading Strasbourg IG which has a one-game edge over the leading pack with an 18-9 record.

As mentioned, Dijon came out and made the most of their homecourt advantage to secure the victory. Limoges fought hard and kept the game close throughout the first three periods, allowing the hosts to keep only a slight two-point advantage by halftime, 37-35. By the end of the third quarter the game was still within striking distance for Limoges as they were only down by three, 57-54. Dijon broke loose in the fourth period while holding their guests to 15 points in the final quarter.

Dijon was a machine within the two-point range, making an impressive 63.2% of their shots from that zone. Anthony Dobbins was in beast mode for his team as he finished the contest with a dominating double-double performance with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while missing only one free-throw attempt as well as only one of his shots from close range. Mykal Riley paced all scorers with 20 points and T.J. Campbell poured in 17 points of his own.

Limoges got more of their players involved in the action, with five of them scoring in double figures, to counteract Dijon’s three-pronged assault. Nobel Boungou Colo was the lead scorer for Limoges with 15 points. J.K. Edwards and J.R. Reynolds each scored 11, while Alex Acker and Taurean Green each contributed 10 points apiece.
