Where will DeMarcus Cousins land this season? The 6-foot-10 big man is still without a team, but it’s expected that he will garner interest around the league at some point. Of course, we’re still not sure which team he could help this season, but Cousins himself mentioned one squad that he wants to play for. Through his personal Twitter account, Cousins said that he wants to help the Sacramento Kings book a return trip to the playoffs, something that the franchise hasn’t been able to do since 2006.

DeMarcus Cousins, who was the 5th overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, played his first seven years with the Kings. He immediately established his name as a scoring and playmaking big man, and made his first NBA All-Star appearance in 2015 when he averaged 24.1 points, 12.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.7 blocks per contest. Cousins would go on to make three more All-Star appearances, but it was then that he encountered consecutive major injuries. While producing a career year with the New Orleans Pelicans in 2018, the star center unfortunately sustained an Achilles injury that shelved him that season. He wasn’t the same dynamic player when he recovered from the injury, as he saw his production diminish while playing for the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Denver Nuggets.

Despite all the injuries he sustained, DeMarcus Cousins is still putting up career averages of 19.6 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 13 steals, and 1.1 blocks. He’s not the same dynamic and mobile big man that he was during his peak years, but there’s no doubt that Cousins can still log efficient spot-up minutes for a contender.
